What is BIM?

| | Building Information Modeling is the process of creating and using digital models for design, construction and/or operations of projects. |

Who is paying for the BIM training?
|
| |
This project has been funded through a Responsive Training Funds for
Incumbent Workers grant awarded by the California Community Colleges
Chancellor’s Office, Economic Development and Workforce Preparation
Division. For additional information on the Building Information
Modeling (BIM) grant or the Workforce Institute, please call 408-918-5100. |

Who is eligible for the free training?
|
| |
The primary candidates for the free training are people actively employed in the design and construction industry who are employees or associates of the grant partners. Upon providing training to all the primary candidates, any remaining grant funds will be used to provide training to others who have signed on the wait list. |

Who are the grant partners?

What is a Registration Code and how do I get one?
|

A Registration Code is required in order to enroll in the free training provided by the BIM grant. Each grant partner has a set of registration codes. You will need to be an eligible employee or associate with one of the grant partners and contact your representative.

Can I pay for the training and take it now?
|
| |
until June 30, 2010, the courses are for grant purposes only. Upon providing training to all the primary candidates, any remaining grant funds will be used to provide training to others who have signed on the wait list. After June 30th, the courses will be available through the Workforce Institutes Professional Training Services |

Are there more BIM courses available?
|
| |
Results and evaluations from the first two courses (BIM for Stakeholders & Practical BIM) of the grant phase will help provide the information to determine and design other curriculum to be offered. The grant phrase will be completed on June 30, 2010.
